NEW JERSEY— As the state works to bring COVID-19 under control one of the major efforts will come in the form of contact tracing.
In the field of public health, contact tracing involves identifying people who may have come into contact with an infected person, and collecting further information about these contacts to help determine where the infection may have spread.
In order to help bring the pandemic under control, the state is now registering residents to become contact tracers. The registration form can be found at the following link: https://covid19.nj.gov/forms/tracer
According to the state, contact tracers will be scheduled 7 days a week between 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., for a period of time not to exceed 35 hours per week. Contact tracers will also be required to complete this free training which will be required for all contact tracers.
