Chicago Police Looking For Man Who Injured Woman After Breaking Into Her Car In West Town - Block Club Chicago

WEST TOWN — Chicago police say a man attacked a woman in West Town after stealing her belongings Wednesday morning.

Around 5:30 a.m., a 26-year-old woman was inside a home in 2100 block of West Ohio Street when she saw a man shatter her car window, Chicago police spokeswoman Kellie Bartoli said.

The woman told police she saw the man rummaging through the car. The victim confronted the man, who then grabbed the woman’s property from within the car and struck the woman in the face and eye, Bartoli said. He ran away on foot.

The attack left the woman bruised but the woman declined medical treatment, Bartoli said. No one was in custody Wednesday afternoon.

Detectives are investigating. Anyone who has information — including nearby residents whose security cameras may have captured the crime — should call Area 3 detectives at 312-744-8445.
