Looking for a COVID-19 test? Northampton County announces holiday hours, Warren County lists locations. - lehighvalleylive.com

Northampton and Warren county officials this week announced opportunities to get tested for the COVID-19 coronavirus illness.

In Northampton County, Thanksgiving Week (Nov. 23-28) holiday hours at its drive-through testing center at Coordinated Health, 3100 Emrick Blvd. in Bethlehem Township, are as follows:

  • Monday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday: Noon to 6 pm.
  • Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday: Closed
  • Friday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m. to noon

“The virus is still active in our area. Testing at our drive-through center shows a positive rate of 7.6%,” county Executive Lamont McClure said in a statement. “I encourage everyone to continue to wear masks, practice social distancing and get tested if they begin to show any symptoms.”

A physician’s order is not required but, to be eligible for testing, individuals must report or display one or more CDC-recognized symptoms of COVID-19: fever, dry cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or loss of taste and/or smell.

The drive-through site is open to anyone, but only residents of Northampton County will have the cost of testing covered by the county if they do not have health coverage. All testing will be through HNL Lab Medicine unless insurance requires an alternate laboratory. Participants should bring a photo ID and their insurance card, if they have one, with them to the testing site.

In Warren County, Freeholder James Kern III said officials are working to reopen a testing site on or about Dec. 1. In the meantime, the county released a list of locations for residents to get tested. The list is included below and available at co.warren.nj.us.

“As we approach the holiday season, we should all redouble our efforts to maintain social distancing and wear a mask,” Warren County Health Officer Pete Summers stated. “I would particularly urge families to limit the size of their holiday gatherings and encourage older at risk family members to attend virtually.”
