Marion County is looking to issue a contract for the construction of a new lift station in Ocala.
On October 8, Marion County Utilities posted an invitation to bid for a qualified contractor to construct a new lift station, approximately 15,000 linear feet of forcemain, and to decommission an existing wastewater package plant.
The work includes construction of a new lift station, site work, all electrical components, and all mechanical components that are necessary for a complete and fully operational lift station.
Four contractors responded to the bid, and the lowest responsive bidder was Commercial Industrial Corp. in Ocala.
The project, based on Commerical Industrial’s bid, has a cost of nearly $1,879,800. There may be up to a 10% contingency added to the purchase as well.
This matter will be brought before the Marion County Board of County Commissioners during their regular meeting on Tuesday, November 16. With the board’s approval, the contract with Commercial Industrial will be executed.
The Marion County Board of County Commissioners meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the McPherson Governmental Campus Auditorium (601 SE 25th Avenue).
