100 Years Ago: 1921

For the first time since his recent severe illness Enrico Caruso, tenor, left his hotel Thursday for an automobile ride thru Central Park. The tenor plans to leave for Italy with his wife and secretary on May 28.

50 Years Ago: 1971

The Martindale Country Club was the scene Wednesday afternoon of the YWCA-sponsored Designer’s Fashion Show. Mrs. Reta Merrick was the commentator of the unique style-show, which concentrated on the fabrics used more than the on styles of the garments themselves.

25 Years Ago: 1996

Poland Community School Drama Club will present ‘American Folklore” in a dinner theater setting at 6 p.m. Friday April 26 in the school gym. Tickets are $3, including a spaghetti dinner. Middle school students will perform four plays adapted from short stories and one based on English folklore.
