Looking ahead to the Texans' next opponent, the Los Angeles Rams.
1. After losing to the undefeated Cardinals on the road for their sixth consecutive loss, the Texans return to NRG Stadium to play the Rams, who are 6-1 after winning 28-19 at Detroit. The Rams’ only loss was at home to Arizona. They started slow at Detroit and trailed the winless Lions 10-0 in the first quarter, 13-3 in the second and 19-17 in the third before scoring the last 11 points to secure the victory and remain one game behind Arizona in the NFC West.
2. In his Detroit homecoming, quarter back Matthew Stafford completed 28 of 41 for 334 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. He connected with Cooper Kupp 10 tines for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Imagine the problems the Texans’ secondary is going to have with Stafford and Kupp. They accumulated only 47 yards rushing against the Lions, but that shouldn’t be a problem with the Texans’ defense that continues to struggle against the run.
3. What a difference a year can make. In 2020, the Texans beat Matthew Stafford and the Lions 41-25 on Thanksgiving. Stafford threw one touchdown pass, had one interception and finished with an 84.9 rating. He was outplayed by Deshaun Watson, who threw for 318 yards and four touchdowns with a 150.4 rating. In this game, Stafford will be going against Tyrod Taylor if he has a good week of practice and is activated from injured reserve.
