2020 NFL Draft: Bears looking to trade up in second round - NBCSports.com

The 2020 NFL draft resumes Friday night with the second and third rounds kicking off at 6 pm. CST, and with the Chicago Bears owning picks 43 and 50, they'll soon be on the clock for the first time.

But will it be at a higher selection? According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bears and Giants are trying to move up.

If Ryan Pace is trying to move into one of the first few picks of Round 2, the next logical question is who's the target?

Several first-round quality players are still on the board, including Penn State edge rusher Yetur Gross-Matos, Houston offensive tackle Joshua Jones, and Georgia running back D'Andre Swift.

But none of those positions are glaring needs right now. If Pace is looking to fill a void early in the round, players like Alabama safety Xaveir McKinney and Utah cornerback Jaylon Johnson make sense.

There's also that guy Jalen Hurts, too.

The Chicago Bears made their first pick fo the 2020 NFL draft at No. 43 overall with the selection of Notre Dame tight end, Cole Kmet.

Kmet, a well-rounded pass-catcher with upside to get stronger in the run game, instantly becomes Chicago's most appealing weapon at the position. He'll provide Nick Foles (or Mitch Trubisky) with the kind of intermediate threat that's been lacking on offense the last few seasons. Kmet was widely regarded as the top tight end in the class.

Bears fans, as usual, were quick to react on Twitter. Check it out:

Matt Nagy, I'm speaking directly to you: are you okay, man? Everything good? Because we should probably chat about this:

Just an Extremely Normal way to wallpaper a room. Nothing Weird At All about plastering literally every square inch of all four windowless walls with old playsheets.

Like, did he do this? Did Bears IT do this? Is this some sort of abstract art experiment? Is Matt any closer to finding the Yellow King? I know the double-doink was tough to swallow, but your friends and family are here for you, Matt. I'm here for you, Matt. It wasn't your fault. It wasn't your fault. We all just want the best for you.
