Disney’s Avengers Campus stunt show is looking for a few good Marvel superheroes - East Bay Times

A new Avengers Campus stunt show will feature Spider-Man, Captain America, Black Panther and Black Widow fighting a sword-wielding villain along the rooftops of the Marvel themed land opening this summer at Disney California Adventure.

The Anaheim theme park is looking for professional stunt talent to perform in a live action show in Avengers Campus, according to the Disney Audition website.

Concept art of the live action show depicts Captain America, Black Panther and Black Widow performing stunts along the rooftops of Avengers Campus. An autonomous audio-animatronic Spider-Man “stuntronic” robot is expected to perform aerial somersaults and backflips.

The Disney casting call seeks stunt performers with athletic and slender builds who are skilled in theatrical hand-to-hand combat, acrobatics, tumbling and repelling to portray the Marvel super heroes.

The super hero and super villain stunt performers will engage in stage combat using prop weapons such as batons, staffs and swords.

“These stunt professionals will use unrivaled experience and athletic skills to amaze and astound our guests every day through high intensity stunts such as stage combat, weapon combat, tumbling and more,” according to the Disney Audition website.

The Disney Audition website listed specific height ranges for each of the Marvel super heroes: Spider-Man (5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10), Captain America (5-foot-11 to 6-foot-3), Black Panther (5-foot-10 to 6-foot-2) and Black Widow (5-foot-4 to 5-foot-8).

The Spider-Man stunt performer needs to be skilled in parkour, a free-running training discipline involving vaulting, jumping, climbing and rolling. The Black Widow stunt woman will wield a baton. The Captain America and Black Panther performers will handle a Bo staff martial arts weapon.

The Disney Audition website doesn’t say if the unidentified broadly built, sword-wielding Avengers foe will be Ultron, Thanos or some other super villain.

“This role demands a passion for action and commanding stage presence,” the Disney Audition website says of the villain.

Disney is accepting submissions for the Marvel stunt show performer roles before March 4 with callbacks for in-person auditions to follow.
