A job fair will be held at Bayonne High School on March 10.

Help is on the way for residents who live in Bayonne, or the surrounding area, and need a job.

The City of Bayonne and the Bayonne Board of Education are partnering with Hudson County One-Stop Career Center and the Hudson County Schools of Technology to host a Career Fair and Job Expo, according to the Bayonne Board of Education.

Mayor James Davis, Superintendent of Schools John Niesz, and Board of Education President Maria Valado announced that the job fair will be held at Bayonne High School on March 10.

“The City of Bayonne is happy to join with the Board of Education and the One Stop Career Center to sponsor this important event,” Mayor Davis said. “We encourage students and community members who are looking for work to come to the job fair.”

The event will be held at the High School’s Richard L. Korpi Ice Rink Gym. Employers will be in the ice rink from 6 to 8 p.m to speak with potential new employees.

The goal is to afford Bayonne High School students and community members an opportunity to network and explore job opportunities that may be available to them, according to the Board of Education.

“It will give them the opportunity to meet with employers and explore job opportunities,” Davis said. “We wish all job applicants and employers the best as they get ready for this Career and Job Expo on March 10.”

More than 50 vendors will be available at the event, but it is not yet clear what employers will be attending the expo.

Network and connect

According to Niesz, the job fair provides an excellent opportunity for students, graduates, and all members of the Bayonne community to connect with potential employers.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our graduates and community members to network and take advantage of short- term jobs that may lead to long-term positions or careers,” Niesz said. “I look forward to this partnership with the City of Bayonne and the County One Stop Career Center for creating another successful event.”

Professional attire is recommended because applicants are advised to come prepared for an interview. Attendees should also bring around five to ten copies of their resume with them to the job fair.

For easy check-in, those interested in attending can register online. Employers Interested in attending are advised to call (201) 369-5205 ext. 3756.

Walk-ins are encouraged because registration is optional. The expo is free.
